Location: California, Somis Objective: Compare the impact of: Ultrasol®ine (KNO₃ + Iodine), Ultrasol® (KNO₃), and PTS (Potassium thiosulfate) + UAN32 on lemon orchard recovery, tree vigor, and fruit qualty. Trial Period: June 2023 – June 2024 Application Window: May–Oct, 5 applications including 33.15 lb/ac of KNO3 in treatments 2 and 3. Total in all treatments: 100 lb/ac N; 76 lb/ac K2O; 52 lb/ac S Key Benefit of Ultrasol®ine: • Faster orchard recovery after stress. Key Results Tree Vigor & Growth • Ultrasol®ine showed significantly better tree recovery & canopy density, especially after extreme weather. • Trees with Ultrasol®ine had more lush growth compared to grower standard. • 8% more grade 1 fruits with Ultrasol®ine compared to GS. (scale 0 worst-5 best, three-tree average per replica) Note that trt. 1 West side had a slightly better vigor pre-trial. The letters identify mean separation between treatments, after ANOVA with LSD 0.1 within the same assessment date Trial Insights Iodine binds to 82 proteins in leaves and roots, including key root proteins that help trees grow new roots and resist stress from poor soil conditions after flooding. The trial showed improved orchard recovery, leading the grower to apply Ultrasol®ine across their entire 200 acre orchard.
