Although iodine is the most important business in the division, due to the high margins it generates, The Specialty Plant Nutrition area and the level of sophistication it has achieved throughout its entire chain (from production to its incorporation into high value-added crops—such as drip irrigation and hydroponics) have also led the company to position itself among the world’s largest players in potassium nitrate, with a 40% market share, although with more stable growth (3% to 5% annually).
“We have also been active in that area. Recently, we opened a plant in Houston (USA), with a new warehouse; we are expanding our capacity in Europe at our plant in the Netherlands, where we are setting up a second production line (…). And we have just opened commercial offices in Brazil, Morocco, and India. Therefore, we also have concrete plans to continue growing,” the executive explains.
