Ultrasol® Calcium is an important source of both calcium and nitric nitrogen, essential in fertigation programs in soil or hydroponic systems. Calcium is essential for cell wall formation and stability, and enhances the plant's natural defense system against pathogens. A lack of calcium results, for example, in apical rot in tomato, bell pepper and melon. Nitrate nitrogen is the most efficient nitrogen source for plants and enhances the uptake of cations (K⁺, Ca⁺⁺⁺ and Mg⁺⁺⁺). Ultrasol® Calcium should not be mixed with sulfates and phosphates in highly concentrated stock solutions to avoid precipitation of insoluble salts. Ultrasol® Calcium can be mixed with Ultrasol® Magnum P44®, in certain quantities.
