Port of Tocopilla Launches Its Integrated Operations Center (IOC)
Port of Tocopilla has launched its new Integrated Operations Center (IOC), an initiative that enables remote monitoring of the loading process, strengthening safety standards, productivity, and quality of work life.
With a vision focused on innovation and the protection of people, Port of Tocopilla has taken another step forward in its modernization journey with the inauguration of the Integrated Operations Center (IOC), a state-of-the-art facility that transforms the way loading operations are managed and key terminal functions are coordinated.
From this purpose-built space—designed specifically for operational control and equipped with advanced technology—the mechanized loading arm that transfers cargo from the conveyor belt to the vessel is now operated remotely. As a result, operators are no longer required to remain in the former cabin located on the arm itself, outside the so-called "line of fire," significantly reducing exposure to operational risks.
